Medical Receptionist

Salary: £9.90 per hour
Hours: 15 hours per week
Working pattern: Tuesday 13:45 - 18:45, Thursday 13:45 - 18:45 and Friday 13:45 - 18:45

We have had an opportunity arise to take on an enthusiastic and motivated Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and welcoming team.

This job is very varied and involves, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Providing reception and front of house services,
  • Welcoming patients and signposting to the appropriate clinician,
  • Making appointments for patients,
  • Answering telephone calls from patients,
  • Dealing with queries from patients,
  • Generally helping anyone who requires help.

You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors so excellent communication skills and resilience is essential. You will need to be confident and professional when dealing with patients and provide a high-quality service to both patients and visitors.

Previous experience in a patient/customer facing role is essential as are IT skills. Previous experience in a healthcare role would be helpful but not essential. Full training will be given to the successful candidate.

Assistant Reception Manager

Salary: £12.00 per hour
Hours: 18 to 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Largely flexible but must work on Tuesdays and Fridays, 7:45 - 18:45

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and dedicated Assistant Reception Manager to join our friendly and welcoming Reception Team. The Assistant Reception Manager would need to help the current Reception Manager to manage the team and take responsibility for the smooth running of the reception area.

You will assist the Reception Manager as a line manager for the reception team. You will need to support and manage reception rotas, manage sickness and absences and hold regular team meetings.

The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills and resilience. They must be able to work on their own initiative and have supervisory experience, along with strong IT skills. You must be organised, confident and professional, have a friendly and approachable manner and can work under pressure.

The managerial aspect of the role includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in managing reception staff as line manager, including managing rotas, training new team members, conducting reviews and appraisals, providing generic HR support to the reception team and dealing with complaints and grievances.
  • Assist in managing the reception area, covering all reception positions as necessary, ensuring adequate staffing for patient services,
  • Providing administrative support to the reception manager, especially with our clinical IT system.

Previous experience in a managerial role is essential as is experience in a patient/customer facing role. Previous experience in a healthcare role would be helpful but not essential.
