Berkshire West Lipid Optimisation Programme
We are working with the Primary Care Alliance CIC and Royal Berkshire Hospital to improve cholesterol care for our patients.
This programme supports people who have had a heart attack, stroke, or other heart or circulation problems, and whose most recent cholesterol result was above the recommended target.
What to Expect
Eligible patients may receive a text message or phone call inviting them to a free 15-minute telephone appointment with an NHS prescriber. The purpose of this appointment is to review current cholesterol treatment and discuss ways to reduce future cardiovascular risk.
If you are contacted about this programme, please be aware:
- The message or call is genuine.
- The team will not ask for bank or card details or request payment
- The team will not ask for your NHS login or app password.

Participation in the programme is optional. If you choose not to take part, your regular GP care and prescriptions will continue as normal.
