Welcome to Burdwood Surgery

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. Blood Tests / Phlebotomy

We provide a patient phlebotomist service for blood sampling. Please ensure you bring your blood form to the appointment or collect it from reception on your arrival to the surgery.

We run morning and afternoon clinics here at the Burdwood Surgery between 8:30 - 09:45 and 14:00 - 14:45 with our Healthcare Assistants. URGENT bloods will also be available up to 15:45. Please ring us on 01635 868006.

Alternatively West Berkshire Community Hospital, Newbury operate an appointment system for all blood tests. To book an appointment please contact their phlebotomy department on 01635 273343 and you will be given a time slot. Or you can now book online by visiting their website:

If URGENT bloods have been requested by your GP then they will have put urgent on the blood form and you can just go directly to the hospital without booking and they will do them there and then.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading are continuing to use their same system - so no appointment is necessary. If you have any questions you can contact their phlebotomy department on 01183 227751

Adult Flu Clinics

We are offering Flu clinics on these dates for patients that are over 65 or those of any age with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, COPD, heart disease, asthma, cancer, pregnant etc as well as carers. This will be an injectable injections.

Children Flu clinics 

We are offering flu clinics for children on the dates below. Your child will be eligible if they are between the ages of 2, 3 and 4. Children up to the ages of 18 will also be eligible if they have chronic health conditions such as diabetes, COPD, heart disease, asthma or cancer. This is the nasal flu.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.
